Today i feel ive made real progress on my sculpt project. My dress is really starting to take shape and should not take too much longer to finish. I have however encountered a few problems with materials that have hindered my progress. The gold thread i had intended to use on a machine to embroider my petals is not strong enough to take the friction of the needle and movements. It continuously snaps. This means i will have to embroider all 4 petals by hand. This will be a time consuming task. Another issue i have had is the organza i had purchased to fuse together and trap beads between, refuses to stick using the bondaweb. We are unsure as to why this happens. I do however have a few different techniques i can try instead. One way would be to use disolvable fabric and free hand embroidery to make panels i can sew beads on to and then sew those between the layers of organza on the bodice. I am however feeling this may take alot more time than i have available to finish this project. So the second option will be the one i think best. Simply sewing the beads straight on to the under part of my dress and sewing the heat gun treated organza over the top of this so as the beads can still be seen. These are some photos of the progress i have made today.
